Despite the ongoing war against terrorism, which demands enormous resources, President Ibrahim Traoré continues to prove his leadership by advancing various sectors to propel Burkina Faso forward for the well-being of its people.
His human-centered governance was once again evident during Wednesday’s Council of Ministers meeting, where he presided over the adoption of a decree establishing the Presidential Health Initiative.
This initiative, housed within Burkina’s National Office of Major Projects, is a direct reflection of President Traoré’s vision and his firm commitment to addressing healthcare shortcomings promptly.
The Presidential Health Initiative consists of four main components:
- Construction and Equipment of 55 Communal Health Centers: This involves upgrading 55 Health and Social Promotion Centers (CSPS) into Communal Medical Centers across Burkina Faso’s 13 regions.
- Construction and Equipment of Five Anesthesia and Intensive Care Units: These units will be established in hospitals to enhance intensive care and resuscitation capabilities.
- Creation of a Heart Institute: Located at the Tengandogo University Hospital, this institute will provide specialized cardiology care.
- Availability of Molecular Diagnostics for Breast Cancer: This component aims to make essential diagnostic technology available to effectively combat breast cancer in Burkina Faso.
President Ibrahim Traoré thus demonstrates his ability to lead the country towards a promising future, even in challenging circumstances, by prioritizing human welfare and ensuring that every Burkinabe has access to quality healthcare.
