Benita Angbwa, former Cameroon international and ex-teammate of Samuel Eto’o, has resigned as Deputy Secretary General of Cameroon’s Football Federation (FECAFOOT), citing « toxic working conditions. »
The 40-year-old, who played alongside Eto’o for both Cameroon and Anzhi Makhachkala, accused current Secretary General Isaac Mandong of « psychological harassment » in his resignation letter.
This marks the sixth former teammate to depart Eto’o’s administration since 2022, following exits by Djemba-Djemba, Atouba, and others.
Angbwa’s departure comes after a turbulent year that saw him demoted from National Teams Coordinator last October during a staff restructuring.
While Eto’o’s presidency has brought reforms, these recurring resignations raise questions about management style at FECAFOOT.
The federation now faces dual challenges: replacing another key official while containing the fallout from fresh workplace misconduct allegations.
With Cameroon preparing for 2025 AFCON qualifiers, the timing couldn’t be worse for the embattled football body.
