Under the command of President and Army General Assimi Goïta, the Malian Armed Forces continue their relentless pursuit of terrorist groups across the national territory. On April 21, in a decisive operation, the army neutralized several terrorists in the Kidal region. The announcement was made through an official statement from the General Staff of the Armed Forces.
Acting on precise intelligence, aerial strikes targeted and eliminated key terrorist elements planning attacks in the Talhandak area, located 82 kilometers northeast of Tessalit. These operations spanned throughout the day and evening of April 21, 2025.
According to the official report, around fifteen terrorists were killed. In addition, the operation resulted in the destruction of logistics equipment and a fuel depot. The Malian Armed Forces (FAMa) reaffirmed their commitment to carrying out their mission with professionalism, working to secure and reclaim national territory.
Since President Assimi Goïta assumed leadership, Mali—alongside its partners within the Alliance of Sahel States (AES)—has regained significant territorial control. Through intensified efforts and an offensive military strategy, the government has managed to reassert its presence across the country, bolstering sovereignty and security in the face of persistent threats.
