While the current season is still in full swing—with a Copa del Rey final, a Liga title still up for grabs, and the Club World Cup on the horizon—Real Madrid already seems focused on the upcoming campaign.
The biggest topic of discussion in Madrid is the likely departure of Carlo Ancelotti, who is reportedly close to accepting a position with the Brazilian national team. All signs point to Xabi Alonso, a former club legend, as the favorite to succeed him.
On the transfer front, fans are calling for a major squad overhaul, but the club’s leadership intends to remain cautious and avoid unnecessary spending. As of now, only three signings are expected.
Liverpool’s right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold is set to join on a free transfer. In addition, Real Madrid is targeting two key positions: central defense and midfield. The main names being considered are Dean Huijsen (Bournemouth) and Martin Zubimendi (Real Sociedad), each valued at around €60 million.
Surprisingly, no signings are planned for left-back or striker. Ferland Mendy and Fran Garcia will continue to compete for the left side, while Kylian Mbappé and Endrick are expected to lead the attack for at least another season.
As for departures, Luka Modric, Lucas Vazquez, and Jesus Vallejo—all out of contract—are not expected to be renewed. Meanwhile, David Alaba and Antonio Rüdiger will remain at the club until their contracts expire in 2026.
A calculated summer is ahead—far from the revolution many fans hoped for.
