As part of the national effort to improve access to maternal, neonatal, and reproductive healthcare, the Togolese government, under the leadership of President Faure Gnassingbé, has launched projects to build mother-and-child health centers. The President has committed to equipping each region with a modern facility offering specialized and high-quality healthcare services.
The Savanes, Plateaux, Centrale, Kara, and Maritime regions will each be provided with a modern hospital to serve their populations. These new infrastructures will help reduce pressure on existing facilities and ensure equitable and quality healthcare access for all Togolese citizens.
In addition to these facilities under construction, Togolese authorities are working to build and equip 80 new healthcare centers, which will be added to the 200 already built. These facilities will strengthen the Togolese healthcare system and ensure that all citizens—even those living in the most remote areas—can access essential social services.
This commitment from the Togolese executive is also reflected in the implementation of the Universal Health Insurance (AMU) system, established on the instructions of President Faure Gnassingbé. The government’s healthcare policy is one of the top priorities in the President’s public policy agenda, with all necessary resources being mobilized to make it a reality.
All these efforts contribute to building a more equitable and inclusive Togo, where all segments of the population have access to basic health services.
