Burkina Faso: One month after the commitments, the widows of the FDS and VDP are integrated into the socio-economic fabric

One month after President Captain Ibrahim Traoré’s meeting with the families of defense forces fallen in battle, promises are beginning to materialize.

On April 23, widows of heroes who died in service to the nation began a training session to become ticket agents at LONAB’s live betting outlets. This training, part of LONAB’s project to expand its sales network—approved by the board of directors—brought together 55 agents, including 20 widows recruited from various regions of the country.

This initiative by LONAB marks the beginning of the government’s broader effort to support the widows and dependents of fallen defense forces. The aim is to provide them with sustainable livelihoods to better support their families.

This training represents a significant step toward professional reintegration for the widows and sends a powerful signal of the inclusive policy promoted by Captain Traoré. It also highlights a new era in which social action becomes a central pillar of governance.

By initiating and supporting such concrete actions, President of the Transition, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, once again demonstrates his commitment to the values of solidarity, social justice, and recognition of the sacrifices made by the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP).

Under his leadership, several initiatives have emerged to strengthen the resilience of the families of martyrs, promote youth employment, and support the recovery of national territory.

With this gesture, President Traoré reaffirms his vision of a proud, united, and resilient Burkina Faso—where every citizen, regardless of their status, plays a role in rebuilding the nation.

With Captain Ibrahim Traoré at the helm, the entire nation moves forward, hand in hand, toward a future of peace, stability, and shared prosperity.
