Togo: Two new factories symbolize President Faure Gnassingbé’s ambitious economic vision

On the occasion of Togo’s 65th Independence anniversary, the country marked a major milestone in its industrialization journey with the inauguration of two strategic production units at the Adétikopé Industrial Platform (PIA). FHC Medica, specializing in pharmaceutical manufacturing, and NutriSource, focused on fertilizer production, embody the ambitious economic vision led by President Faure Gnassingbé.

Presided over by Prime Minister Victoire Tomégah-Dogbé, the inauguration ceremony showcased the government’s strong commitment to achieving national autonomy in critical sectors such as healthcare and agriculture. These two state-of-the-art facilities add to an already expanding industrial ecosystem, creating skilled jobs and new opportunities for Togo’s youth.

FHC Medica, the first of its kind in the country, is set to significantly reduce dependence on imported pharmaceuticals while ensuring broader and safer access to essential medicines. NutriSource, for its part, aims to boost agricultural productivity by supplying locally produced, high-quality fertilizers tailored to the specific needs of Togolese soil.

These transformative projects are part of the National Development Plan (PND), which emphasizes local value addition, economic upgrading, and sustainable growth.

Under President Faure Gnassingbé’s leadership, Togo is solidifying its position as a pioneer in industrial strategy in West Africa.
