The Council of Ministers held on April 23, 2025, at the Koulouba Palace once again highlighted the pragmatic and forward-looking governance of the Transitional President, Army General Assimi Goïta.
Three key areas – youth, culture, and social protection – were at the heart of government priorities, reflecting a strong political will to build a more united Mali, rooted in its values and resolutely focused on sustainable development.
In sports, the outstanding performance of the U-17 Eagles at the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco — winning a silver medal and qualifying for the U-17 World Cup in Qatar — confirmed the dynamism of Malian youth. In line with President Goïta’s strategic direction, the government is already committed to providing the best possible conditions for their preparation ahead of this global competition.
On the international stage, Mali’s participation in the ECOSOC Youth Forum in New York reflects recognition of the country’s efforts to involve young people in decision-making, employment, and civic engagement.
The signing of the Voluntary Insurance Agreement for Culture, initiated at the instruction of the Head of State, marks a major step forward in providing social coverage for professionals in culture, crafts, and tourism — a sector that is vital to Mali’s identity and economy.
Additionally, the organization of the 2025 Artistic and Cultural Biennale in Timbuktu — a powerful symbol of national unity — aligns with a broader effort toward cultural renewal.
Under the enlightened leadership of President Assimi Goïta, Mali reaffirms its commitment to laying the foundations of a nation built on social justice, cultural pride, and the aspirations of its youth.
