Burkina Faso: Captain Ibrahim Traoré makes his vision of food self-sufficiency and support for rural women a reality

Committed to the development of Burkina Faso and the well-being of its citizens, President Captain Ibrahim Traoré has kept the promise he made to the women of the Zongo farming site on March 6.

To celebrate women during the month of March, the President of Faso made an impromptu visit on March 6, 2025, to the female vegetable growers of the Zongo site, promising them support for the redevelopment of the area. On May 1, the women of the farming site, accompanied by the Chief of Staff of the Presidency, Captain Medah, officially received the completed works on the 3.76-hectare site, which now includes two boreholes, a water tower, fifteen irrigation basins, and agricultural inputs to improve their crop yields.

This new strategic farming area in Zongo, located in the commune of Loumbila, brings to life Captain Ibrahim Traoré’s vision of revitalizing the agricultural sector to ensure the country’s food self-sufficiency.

The new inputs received by the women will help boost crop growth and introduce the cultivation of new vegetables.

Committed to peace, stability, and the development of Burkina Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traoré continues to carry out concrete actions and implement mechanisms aimed at advancing the country across all structural sectors.

The transformational policy introduced by President Traoré since he came to power has led to several changes in various areas. These achievements are welcomed by many Burkinabe, who continue to express their support for their leader.
