No long speeches, no vague promises. The President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, continues to demonstrate that action speaks louder than words. On Thursday, his Chief of Staff, Captain Martha Céleste Anderson Dekomwin Medah, visited the village of Zongo, in the commune of Loumbila, to fulfill a commitment made just two months earlier.
On the occasion of International Women’s Rights Day, March 6, 2025, the Head of State made a surprise visit to this vegetable-growing site, listening attentively to the concerns of the local women. Today, those conversations have materialized into concrete achievements.
The 3.76-hectare area designated for vegetable farming is now fully developed: a secured fence, two functional boreholes, a water tower erected, and 15 irrigation basins ready for use. This fast-tracked project reflects a clear intention—to improve living conditions through concrete, tangible actions.
In a festive and grateful atmosphere, the women of Zongo welcomed the presidential delegation with radiant smiles, songs, and dances as the official water flow into the irrigation system marked a symbolic step toward a promising future.
Captain Medah did not come empty-handed. Fertilizer, seeds, farming tools—the women left with everything needed to begin the farming season with confidence. A powerful gesture that highlights President Ibrahim Traoré’s attentiveness to the real needs of his people.
From the beneficiaries’ side, there was heartfelt appreciation. Mrs. Elise Ouedraogo, spokesperson for the day, was full of praise:
« We have a President who listens to us, who takes action, and who believes in our ability to build our own future. This achievement is a blessing for our entire community. »
To safeguard these gains, the Chief of Staff urged local authorities to ensure proper management of the site and maintenance of the infrastructure put in place.
In Captain Ibrahim Traoré’s Burkina Faso, actions come before words. And perhaps it is in this very principle that the strength of a genuine commitment to the people lies.
