Burkina Faso: Comforting the soldiers deployed at the front for a more effective fight against terrorism.

Captain Ibrahim Traoré, as a true patriot and Head of State, does not skimp on the means when it comes to accomplishing the mission he has assigned himself: defending his country against the terrorist invasion. Recognising that the soldiers deployed at the front deserve to be encouraged for the hard work they keep doing in the name of the fatherland, the Head of State visited the 14 th Inter-Arms Regiment (RIA) in the town of Djibo, victim of a terrorist attack on 24 October.

“Congratulations for the work done, much courage for the future,” said the President to the personnel of the 14th RIA.
The Captain said he was aware that there were “dysfunctions that must be quickly corrected for greater efficiency”.

“It has been more than two (2) years that some of you have been deployed in this detachment (…) We can’t imagine what you have been through during all this time. But you are strong. This proves that you are capable of more than you can imagine,” acknowledged the Captain, who promises to replace them so that they can breathe again and serve the country more effectively.

Arrangements will be made to provide reinforcement and intelligence as well, the President said.

He called on the young soldiers newly deployed on the front to be tenacious, as a guarantee of success in this fight.

“Maintain your potential, maintain the potential,” the President called on them.

“Wherever duty calls, wherever the people need us, we will go. We are going to reconquer the whole territory”, added Captain Ibrahim TRAORÉ.
