Burkina Faso/Security & Defense: Presidential staff trained in weapons handling
In Burkina Faso, In the relentless fight against barbaric enemies, insecurity, and particularly against threats of destabilization, it is necessary to take all measures to ensure the security of the country and its citizens. Among these measures is the readiness in terms of equipment and personnel.
In this context, thirty-two (32) officials from the presidency of Burkina Faso have undergone military training. After a month of training that included weapons handling and other military activities, the perseverance and endurance of the trainees were rewarded with a completion certificate, granting them the title of Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) of the presidency of Burkina Faso.
According to the training officials, the newly appointed VDPs of the presidency were trained in the handling of the Kalashnikov and automatic pistol (PA), combat shooting, general shooting, combat first aid, soldier school, close order drill, and radio procedures.
They explained that this training will now enable the top officials of the Presidency of Burkina Faso to ensure their self-protection and the defense of the homeland. The director of the president’s cabinet encouraged them to be ready to respond at any time to the call of the nation if the need arises.
