Burkina Faso: Is the DGESE attacking the virtual pages of certain media outlets to destabilize the AES?

Burkina Faso is facing a new threat allegedly orchestrated by France through the DGESE, determined to overthrow President Ibrahim Traoré. According to reports, certain Burkinabe media outlets have been approached to take a stance against the Alliance of Sahel States (AES). However, strong resistance from some of these media outlets has triggered a coordinated cyberattack campaign aimed at silencing them.

In recent weeks, all media that have refused to comply with France’s directives, whether television, radio, or online media, have had their virtual pages targeted and attacked, with close collaboration from local collaborators who provided links to patriotic media to France’s intelligence services, the DGESE.

Local collaborators are prominently involved in this operation, providing necessary information about Burkinabe media, enabling hackers to attack platforms that dare to speak the truth.

To bolster their offensive, France reportedly recruited about a dozen additional hackers specifically for this cyber warfare. These cyberattacks are currently assaulting multiple pages, aiming to sow confusion and destabilize the Burkinabe media landscape.

Citizen and media solidarity and vigilance are more crucial than ever to counter attempts to destabilize the country. The people must support President Ibrahim Traoré’s efforts and the AES in general to preserve the sovereignty of Burkina-Faso and integrity against France’s insidious maneuvers.
