Niger: Bravo! to the nigerien people for their exceptional hospitality during the Sahel States Alliance summit

From July 5 to 6, 2024, Niamey, the capital of Niger, was the scene of an event of paramount importance: the first summit of the Alliance of Sahel States (AES) Heads of State. This meeting, bringing together the Malian and Burkinabe presidential delegations, was marked by exceptional hospitality from the Nigerien people, who warmly welcomed the delegations and showed unwavering support for the AES initiative.

The streets of Niamey during these two days were animated with scenes of joy and celebration as the delegations of the AES member countries arrived in the city. The Nigeriens, known for their legendary hospitality, once again demonstrated their generosity and warmth by welcoming the Presidents of Mali and Burkina Faso. Banners, flags, and welcome songs reflected the general enthusiasm and spirit of solidarity prevailing among the people of the Sahel.

The Nigerien people have always been a pillar of support for their President, especially in his efforts to promote good governance and regional cooperation. The hosting of this summit in Niamey is a recognition of Niger’s commitment to play a key role in the stabilization and development of the Sahel region. The Nigeriens showed, through their warm welcome, that they fully support their President’s efforts, who works tirelessly for the peace, security, and prosperity of their country and the region.
