Football / Youssef En-Nesyri set to join Fenerbahçe: A new challenge for the Moroccan international

Moroccan striker Youssef En-Nesyri is set to leave Sevilla FC to join Fenerbahçe, one of Turkey’s most prestigious clubs. According to Spanish media, an agreement has been reached between the two clubs for a transfer that will see En-Nesyri at Fenerbahçe for the next four years.

EFE news agency, citing sources close to the deal, confirmed that Sevilla and Fenerbahçe have settled on the transfer of the Atlas Lions forward. After careful consideration, En-Nesyri has agreed to the offer and is expected to travel to Istanbul early next week for a medical examination and to finalize the details of his contract.

According to sports newspaper Marca, the 27-year-old En-Nesyri ended speculation by agreeing to join the team managed by José Mourinho. This move marks a significant turning point in the striker’s career, which has seen ups and downs during his time in Seville.

Since arriving at Sevilla FC in January 2020 from Leganés, En-Nesyri has made a mark with his performances, scoring 16 goals last season. Despite his successes, the Andalusian club has had to part ways with him due to a financial deficit of 90 million euros accumulated over the past three seasons. Selling the striker, who is under contract until June 2025, is crucial to balancing the club’s finances.

For Fenerbahçe, signing Youssef En-Nesyri is a golden opportunity to bolster their attack with an international-level player capable of making a difference in crucial moments.
