USA: The first clip for the Harris Kamala campaign already available on social media!

Queen B (Beyonce) is a formidable weapon for the Democrats. Just a few days after Joe Biden withdrew from the U.S. presidential race on Sunday, July 21, his vice president, Kamala Harris, seems to be well on her way to replacing him. On Thursday, July 25, she released her first official campaign video, featuring the opening of Beyoncé’s song “Freedom” from the album Lemonade.

The 42-year-old Texan artist agreed from the first day of Kamala Harris’s campaign to let the vice president use her single for the entire duration of the race to the White House. This prominent permission can be seen as a subtle way to support the Democratic camp, especially from someone who sang at Barack Obama’s inauguration after his re-election in 2012.

The video opens with an image of Kamala Harris at the presidential podium of the United States. Then we see shots of the American flag as Beyoncé’s song begins. Kamala Harris herself then questions Americans : “In this election, we face one question : what kind of country do we want to live in” ? Over images of Donald Trump and his running mate JD Vance, she continues, “There are some people who think we should live in a country of chaos, fear, and hate. But we have chosen a different path “, she asserts.

“We choose freedom”, declares the Democratic candidate, echoing the “freedom” in Beyoncé’s title. Queen B’s song is perfectly timed: as we see Kamala Harris’s supporters on screen, the chorus of “Freedom” begins. “Freedom, freedom, I can’t move. Freedom, cut me loose. Freedom, where are you ’cause I need you too”.

The vice president then touches on her favorite campaign themes: defending abortion rights, combating gun violence, and fighting against inequalities.
