Burkina Faso: ROSATOM envisages soon construction of a nuclear power plant in Ouagadougou
On August 6, 2024, Burkina Faso’s Minister of Energy, Mines, and Quarries, Yacouba Zabré Gouba, welcomed a delegation from ROSATOM, a Russian company specializing in the nuclear sector, to Ouagadougou.
This meeting is part of the ambitious project to build a civilian nuclear power plant in Burkina Faso. The Ambassador of Burkina Faso to the Russian Federation, His Excellency Ludovic Tapsoba, also attended the meeting.
During this meeting, Minister Yacouba Zabré Gouba emphasized the importance of this project for the energy development of Burkina Faso and expressed his gratitude to ROSATOM for its cooperation. Ambassador Ludovic Tapsoba also highlighted the strong bilateral relations between Burkina Faso and Russia, hoping that this project will further strengthen these ties.
The visit of the ROSATOM delegation to Ouagadougou marks an important step towards the realization of the nuclear power plant project in Burkina Faso.
