Burkina Faso / President Ibrahim Traoré: Catalyst for innovative endogenous industrialisation

President Ibrahim Traoré continues to demonstrate his unwavering commitment to the endogenous development of Burkina Faso by launching innovative initiatives aimed at strengthening the national economy. His proactive approach is evident in the promotion of industrial projects that capitalize on local resources and reduce dependence on imports.

A recent example is the groundbreaking ceremony for the expansion of the Ciments de l’Afrique (CIMAF) cement production plant, which will include a calcined clay production unit and a solar power plant.

This initiative reflects President Traoré’s vision for sustainable and environmentally friendly industrialization. The calcined clay production unit will not only add value to local raw materials but also enhance the competitiveness of Burkina Faso’s cement industry. By incorporating a solar power plant, the project aligns with national energy transition goals, thereby reducing the industry’s carbon footprint.

For the President of Faso, this project represents “the perfect illustration of our industrialization policy”. He praised the promoters for their commitment to supporting the vision of a self-sufficient and innovative Burkina Faso. This effort is part of a broader strategy to revitalize key sectors of the Burkinabe economy, fostering job creation and infrastructure development.

Through these actions, President Traoré reaffirms his determination to make Burkina Faso a model of endogenous development in Africa, where innovation and industrialization drive growth and improve the well-being of the population.
