Burkina Faso/Peace effort: Burkina Faso’s peace and stability remain mobilized

The call from the President of Burkina Faso, Captain Ibrahim TRAORE, for mobilization in support of the fighters for a more effective struggle against the enemies in the bush and for the reclamation of national territory continues to resonate in the minds of Burkinabé citizens. These peace-loving citizens, who seek stability and security for their country, continue to take action in response.

In addition to the monthly contributions from public and private sector employees, many volunteers are stepping forward daily to support the efforts of the authorities and the fighting forces in the country’s battle against these enemies. Generous donations from Burkinabe across the nation are steadily increasing.

In the semi-annual report of contributions at the beginning of July, the government announced that 86 billion CFA francs had been raised toward the goal of 100 billion by the end of December 2024 for the patriotic support fund. This result is satisfactory for the government, as it has accelerated and intensified the fight, while also considering the families of fallen soldiers and the socio-economic development sector.

The proper management of these contributions builds trust and further motivates Burkinabe both at home and abroad. An example of this is the diaspora from the village of Nohao. According to official information, these Burkinabe living abroad donated chainsaws to the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and Volunteers for the Defense of the Fatherland (VDP) on Monday, August 12, and contributed 150.000 CFA francs to the government in support of the peace effort.

This gesture by the generous donors serves to encourage the valiant and brave fighters in their sovereign mission to secure the population and reclaim the entirety of the national territory. The struggle continues, and such patriotic acts are vital for the effective liberation of the land of upright men from the hands of terrorists.
