Exchanges with Malian diplomats before their departure on missions have become a tradition in the Republic of Mali. Determined to promote the country’s image internationally, to protect the interests of the country and Malians abroad, and to convey the vision of the AES Confederation, the transitional government under the leadership of President Assimi GOÏTA has made diplomacy an essential tool.

In addition to the discussions and capacity-building sessions for diplomatic mission heads organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the transitional president has made it a habit to meet with diplomats representing the country abroad before their departure. It was in this context that the new ambassadors of Mali to Nigeria and Rwanda had discussions with the head of state on Tuesday, October 15.

According to reports, they received strategic advice, firm guidelines, and instructions from the transitional president to successfully carry out their missions in their respective posts. They were urged to strengthen cooperation ties with partner countries and to ensure the well-being of their compatriots residing in these nations.

Now engaged in a dynamic of diplomatic coordination within the AES space, the transitional president and president of the Confederation of Sahel States has issued instructions to help Malian diplomats play their role in building this organization.
