AES: Countries intensify agricultural production with the expansion of over 3.000 hectares

The alliance of AES countries continues its ambition to strengthen agricultural production in Côte d’Ivoire and the sub-region with an expansion of over 3.000 hectares for the cultivation of key products such as coffee, cocoa, plantain bananas, pineapples, avocados, and oil palm, as well as emerging crops like apples, kola nuts, and dates. This initiative is part of a strategy for agricultural diversification and support for the sub-regional economy.

The intensification of production of these essential products for the agricultural sector and export markets is a direct response to the growing demand in national and international markets. Coffee and cocoa, in particular, remain flagship products for the economies of these countries, while plantain bananas and pineapples enjoy sustained demand in regional markets. The introduction of crops like dates and apples marks a strategic shift toward diversification, aiming to reduce dependence on certain products while exploring new opportunities.

This expansion of over 3.000 hectares not only increases production volumes but also creates new jobs for sub-regional communities, thereby enhancing economic autonomy and rural development.

By investing in modern agricultural technologies and sustainable practices, the AES countries are focused on environmentally friendly production while improving yields.
