Mali: The Army steps up a gear with the acquisition of the AKINCI drone
General Assimi Goïta has once again placed the security of Mali at the forefront of his priorities. In this effort, he has provided the Malian Armed Forces with cutting-edge equipment aimed at strengthening the fight against terrorism and ensuring national stability.
Among these acquisitions are state-of-the-art technologies, such as the AKINCI drone, a true flagship of the military arsenal. This drone, designed for high-intensity missions, is equipped with two turboprop engines, allowing it to fly at altitudes of over 11 km and reach speeds of up to 400 km/h.
Its impressive payload capacity allows it to carry up to 1,500 kg of precision bombs. The drone’s optronic system, featuring vision spheres, enables it to cover the entire territory, day and night, providing continuous surveillance and rapid response to threats.
Thanks to these new acquisitions, funded by the national budget, Mali is taking a significant step in strengthening its defense capabilities.
These sophisticated pieces of equipment will not only improve territorial coverage but also help neutralize terrorist armed groups, wherever they may be, thereby contributing to enhanced security for all Malian citizens.
