Burkina Faso: The christmas grant message is a scam
The Communication and Press Relations Directorate of the Presidency of Faso informs citizens of a fraudulent message circulating on social media and messaging apps. This message, claiming to announce a grant of 85.000 CFA francs for Christmas festivities on behalf of President Ibrahim Traoré, is entirely false.
It is a scam orchestrated by cybercriminals whose goal is to defraud the population, either by extracting personal and financial information or by infecting electronic devices with malware.
The Presidency of Faso therefore urges the public to exercise great caution when encountering such messages. It is crucial not to respond to these solicitations, not to click on suspicious links, and not to share any personal or financial data with strangers.
