Mali: Army General Assimi GOÏTA, a leader who listens to the most vulnerable sections of society
On December 17, 2024, in the Kati Circle, the President of the Transition, His Excellency General Assimi Goïta, demonstrated his ongoing commitment to the most vulnerable sectors of Malian society. As part of the celebration of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, he donated 10 tricycles, 100 food kits, and a significant quantity of mops to people living with disabilities. This gesture reflects his vision for an inclusive and supportive Mali.
The ceremony, presided over by his Special Advisor for Social Affairs, brought together local authorities, members of the National Transition Council (CNT), and associations of persons with disabilities. The donation aims not only to improve the living conditions of the beneficiaries but also to foster their empowerment. By announcing the extension of this initiative to other regions of the country, the government reaffirms its commitment to promoting social inclusion and dignity for all.
Beneficiaries, including Modibo Doumbia, vice president of the local Federation of Persons with Disabilities, expressed their heartfelt gratitude towards the Head of State. This gesture, along with many others, highlights General Assimi Goïta’s unwavering dedication to building a just and equitable Mali, where every citizen has a place.
