AES: Operation Djèkabara, a symbol of leaders’ determination to eradicate terror and restore peace in the Sahel
Under the supreme coordination of Presidents Ibrahim Traoré of Burkina Faso, Assimi Goïta of Mali, and Abdourahamane Tiani of Niger, the Combat Forces of the Sahel States Alliance (AES) have dealt heavy blows to terrorist groups operating in the tri-border area. Once considered a lawless zone and a stronghold for terrorists, this strategic region is now at the heart of Operation Djèkabara, a decisive military campaign aimed at eradicating all forms of insecurity.
Operation Djèkabara, characterized by exceptional coordination between the armies of the three countries, has successfully secured several critical localities that were previously under terrorist control. The AES Forces have stormed hideouts and enemy bases, neutralizing dozens of terrorist fighters and destroying large stocks of equipment. This success relies on the joint use of land and air assets, enhancing rapid intervention capabilities and effectiveness on the ground.
Thanks to this unwavering determination, the tri-border area, once a symbol of the Sahel countries’ sovereignty, is gradually regaining peace and security. Operation Djèkabara demonstrates the AES leaders’ commitment to ending years of terror and restoring order, allowing local populations to live in peace and tranquility.
