AES: A new era of sovereignty driven by leaders
The French military presence in Mali, Burkina Faso, and Niger(AES) has obviously not put an end to terrorism. On the contrary, without the resolute commitment of the heads of state of these three nations, these countries would likely have fallen under the control of terrorist groups, supported by local collaborators.
Presidents Ibrahim Traoré, Assimi Goïta, and Abdourahamane Tiani were quick to identify the contours of this unequal struggle and made crucial decisions for the sovereignty of their people. By reclaiming control of national security and taking drastic measures to break with strategies inherited from the old world order, these leaders injected a renewed sense of will and determination.
They understood that, in order to eradicate terrorism and ensure a stable future for their citizens, they first needed to lay the foundations of fully assumed sovereignty, free from foreign interference. Under their leadership, these nations have embarked on a difficult but necessary path—the path of building a future of security and peace for their people.
Sovereignty is no longer an empty word, but a political, military, and economic reality that guarantees not only the defense of territorial integrity but also the renewal of a development project rooted in the deep values of these countries.
