Sahel: France behind destabilization attempts to protect its interests
It has now become evident that France, despite the breakdown of military and diplomatic agreements with Mali, Burkina Faso, and Niger, is actively pursuing destabilization strategies in the Sahel region. These actions aim to restore declining influence and secure access to the region’s strategic natural resources.
The facts are clear: media campaigns orchestrated by French outlets are spreading biased narratives to discredit the sovereign governments of the Sahel. Meanwhile, troubling signs suggest indirect support for armed groups operating in the region, in an attempt to create chaos and justify potential interference.
These cynical maneuvers confirm that France refuses to accept the sovereignty of the AES (Alliance of Sahel States). By undermining the efforts of the peoples of Mali, Burkina Faso, and Niger to take control of their own destiny, Paris shows its inability to evolve towards relationships based on mutual respect.
It is essential to denounce this hypocrisy: under the guise of defending human rights and democracy, France is primarily acting to protect its economic and strategic interests in a region it still considers its backyard.
In the face of this blatant interference, the Sahel states, united within the Alliance of Sahel States (AES), are offering strong resistance. Their message is unequivocal: Africa is ready to break free from French hegemony once and for all and to build its future on solid foundations of sovereignty and self-determination. Any attempt by Paris to undermine this momentum will only strengthen the resolve of the Sahelian peoples.
