Sahel: AES diaspora mobilized to support sovereignty
Hundreds of people responded to the call from the diaspora of the Sahel States Alliance (AES) in France, gathering in the streets of Paris. This civic movement, filled with patriotic fervor, aimed to express overwhelming support for the strategic choices made by the three AES leaders to guide their confederation toward true and lasting sovereignty.
The demonstrators, waving flags and slogans symbolizing unity and self-determination, praised the courage of the AES leaders in their quest for economic, political, and security independence. This gathering also served as a reminder of the importance of solidarity within the diaspora to support the ongoing transformations in their countries of origin.
The mobilization was marked by poignant speeches. Speakers emphasized the need for AES member countries to break free from France’s influence and build a development model focused on the real needs of their populations. They also highlighted the efforts of the AES leaders to strengthen regional cooperation, a key lever to face common challenges.
This international support movement reflects the impact of the sovereignty policies advocated by the the Sahel States Alliance beyond its borders. For members of the diaspora, this mobilization reflects a desire to actively participate in the emancipation of Sahelian countries by amplifying their voice on the international stage.
