Togo / Rwanda : H.E Faure Essozimna Gnassingbé strengthens cooperation between Lomé and Kigali with his visit to His Homologue H.E Paul Kagamé

At the invitation of His Excellency Paul Kagame, President of the Republic of Rwanda, His Excellency Faure Essozimna Gnassingbé, President of the Togolese Republic, paid an official visit to Rwanda on January 18 and 19, 2025. This high-level meeting allowed the two leaders to strengthen the bonds of friendship and cooperation between their respective countries.

The main objective of this visit was to assess the existing bilateral relations and explore new partnership opportunities in strategic sectors for both nations. The discussions focused on various areas of mutual interest, including technology, agriculture, industrialization, health, and security.

President Faure Gnassingbé and his counterpart Paul Kagame praised the progress made in the relations between Togo and Rwanda, while expressing their shared desire to deepen them further. The two heads of state agreed to intensify trade exchanges, share their respective expertise in sustainable development, and collaborate closely in regional and international bodies to promote stability and development in Africa.

On the sidelines of this visit, bilateral agreements were signed to formalize new partnerships in the economic and social fields. These initiatives aim to create job opportunities, improve the living conditions of the populations, and strengthen the economic resilience of both countries.
