Burkina Faso/Counter-terrorism: China remains committed to cooperation
In its fight against terrorism, which hinders development, Burkina Faso can always count on its strategic ally, the People’s Republic of China. This was hinted at by the Chinese ambassador accredited to Burkina Faso, Lu Shan, on Tuesday, January 21, during his meeting with the Burkinabe Prime Minister, Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo.
As a reminder, relations of friendship and cooperation between Burkina Faso and the People’s Republic of China have been revitalized and strengthened since the rise to power of Captain Ibrahim TRAORE’s regime. To date, they are in a strategic partnership, particularly in the areas of security and defense, as is the case with other countries with which the land of honest men shares close cooperation ties.
“China will firmly support the efforts made by Burkina Faso to preserve its territorial integrity and sovereignty to the extent of its means”, affirmed the Chinese diplomat after his audience with the Burkinabe Prime Minister. He also praised the efforts and determination of the Burkinabe authorities in their fight against terrorism.
In addition to security, China also aims to contribute to the current development dynamics of the country, focusing on areas such as agriculture, health, and infrastructure. Several projects are already in the pipeline and should be realized.
