Africa: Togo at the dawn of a new era of modern infrastructure
In 2025, Togo is making a decisive turn in its economic and social development strategy by allocating a budget of 72 billion CFA francs for the development of its road network.
This ambitious program reflects the Togolese authorities’ commitment to sustainably transforming the nation’s infrastructure by modernizing a network that spans over 11.700 kilometers.
The initiative aims not only to improve the mobility of people and goods within the country but also to strengthen Togo’s strategic position as a logistics hub in the West African region. With its road corridors, Togo aspires to become a key intercontinental trade hub, linking inland markets to seaports.
Among the major ongoing projects, the construction of the Sokodé bypass, located about 340 kilometers from Lomé, plays a central role. This strategic project will significantly reduce congestion in this key area, while facilitating economic exchanges between the northern and southern parts of the country.
Beyond its economic impact, this large-scale program integrates sustainable development principles. Special efforts are being made to minimize the environmental impact of the work while creating thousands of local jobs. By combining innovation, ecological responsibility, and efficiency, Togo is relying on modern infrastructure to build an inclusive and resilient future.
By investing heavily in its road network, Togo is asserting itself as a committed actor in the economic and social progress of its population, while consolidating its role as a regional driver in logistics and trade.
