Burkina Faso: Under the leadership of President Ibrahim TRAORÉ, the Council of Ministers validates the recruitment of 11.404 agents for 2025

On Wednesday, President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, chaired a Cabinet meeting where several key issues were discussed. Among the major decisions made, the recruitment of new civil servants for the year 2025 was approved, demonstrating the government’s ongoing commitment to strengthening public administration and social services in Burkina Faso.

According to the report presented by the Ministry of Public Service, Labor, and Social Protection, 11.404 positions will be filled through competitive exams in 2025, marking a 0.74% increase compared to 2024, when 11.320 positions were opened. This decision reflects the government’s effort to meet the growing demand for human resources, within the context of transforming and revitalizing the public administration.

The breakdown of the 2025 positions is as follows:

  • 4.348 positions for professional exams, slightly down from the 4,534 positions in 2024;
  • 7.056 positions for direct exams, up from 6,786 positions the previous year.

This measure illustrates the government’s commitment to expanding access to civil service opportunities for young Burkinabe citizens while addressing the specific needs of ministries and institutions.

At the same time, this initiative is part of the ongoing effort to modernize public administration and strengthen key sectors such as education, health, and security. It also reflects the strategic vision of Captain Ibrahim Traoré, focused on creating sustainable jobs and consolidating state services for the benefit of the people.

The Cabinet also emphasized the importance of ensuring transparency and fairness in the organization of the exams to guarantee optimal human resource management and strengthen citizens’ trust in public institutions.

This decision sends a strong signal of the authorities’ commitment to addressing the population’s expectations and supporting efforts for the socio-economic development of Burkina Faso.
