Burkina Faso: Trade, the Egyptian market will be opened and vice-versa
The authorities of Burkina Faso and their counterparts from the Arab Republic of Egypt have expressed their shared commitment to strengthening bilateral ties and, above all, expanding their cooperation into other areas for the benefit of their respective countries. This commitment was expressed during the visit to the Prime Minister’s office by the Egyptian Ambassador to Burkina Faso, Mr. Sherif A. K. Nada.
In his discussions with the Burkinabe head of government, Mr. Rimtalba Jean-Emmanuel Ouédraogo, the diplomat expressed the desire to see the two partner countries strengthen their commercial ties. “There are really good prospects to explore, particularly in the field of trade. Markets will be open for exchanges to benefit our populations”, he affirmed.
Currently, trade exchanges between the two countries are limited, and it is crucial for the authorities to revitalize this sector in order to create business opportunities for private actors in both Burkina Faso and Egypt. Products that meet the needs of their respective populations could therefore be exported. For the record, the two countries already cooperate in several areas, such as security and digital technology.
In the fight against terrorism, Egypt has expressed its readiness to fully support its brother and partner country in restoring peace and security. According to opinions, this exchange meeting between the Prime Minister and the Egyptian diplomat marks a further step in strengthening the ties between Ouagadougou and Cairo, paving the way for a new dynamic of cooperation beneficial to both peoples.
