Niger: Authorities keep promise to modernize and improve public services
After expressing his desire to modernize administrative infrastructure and improve services to citizens during one of his media appearances, the President of the CNSP, Head of State, Brigadier General Abdourahamane TIANI, aims to undertake an ambitious project in the Nigerien Customs sector. On Monday, February 3, the construction of a modern headquarters for the Customs services was launched.
The ceremony was presided over by the Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance, Ali Mahaman Lamine Zeine. In the next 15 months, a significant 10-story building is expected to rise in the Nigerien capital, thus demonstrating the authorities’ commitment to better restructuring the customs administration for more efficient and profitable services to benefit the national economy.
Since this administration is a key link in resource collection for financing development projects, beyond the need to improve working conditions for civil servants, simplify administrative processes for users, and strengthen the efficiency of the customs service, this ambitious project aligns with the authorities’ goal of modernizing administrative infrastructure and beautifying cities across the country.
It is also a desire of the authorities, according to opinions, to strengthen administrative capacities while providing high-quality services to citizens and economic partners. The laying of the first stone marks the beginning of a new era for the Nigerien customs administration, characterized by efficiency, modernity, and high-quality public service.
