The endogenous development policy initiated by President Ibrahim Traoré is already bearing fruit, with the establishment of industrial units that transform local resources to create wealth. The tomato processing factory of the Burkinabe Tomato Company (SOBTO) in Bobo-Dioulasso is a concrete example of this. On Monday, February 3, 2025, the Chairman of the Board of the Agency for the Promotion of Community Entrepreneurship (APEC), Samuel KALKOUMDO, made an impromptu visit to observe the progress of the mass production of tomato paste and to encourage the staff.
This factory, with a production capacity of 100 tons of tomato paste per day, is a testament to the authorities’ commitment to promoting local industrialization. The General Director of SOBTO, Didier SANON, announced the upcoming launch of various formats of tomato concentrate under the “A’diaa” brand, with a structured distribution through approved wholesalers. This initiative illustrates the government’s desire to reduce dependence on imports and encourage the consumption of Burkinabe products.
Building on this success, the Chairman of the APEC Board invites the population to support popular shareholding, which ensures true economic independence. With the creation of jobs and the enhancement of national resources, Burkina Faso is taking a new step towards its industrial autonomy under the vision of President Ibrahim Traoré.
