Barcelona continued their impressive form with a dominant 5-0 victory over Valencia in the Copa del Rey quarterfinals, replicating their 7-1 triumph in La Liga just two weeks earlier. The match began with a bang for the Catalans, as Ferran Torres opened the scoring in the 3rd minute against his former club.

He doubled the lead in the 17th minute after Lamine Yamal’s shot hit the post, and Torres was quick to capitalize on the rebound. Fermin Lopez made it 3-0 in the 23rd minute with a perfect lob over the goalkeeper, Dimitrievski, and Torres completed his hat-trick in the 30th minute with a well-placed shot from the edge of the box (0-4).

Despite an early second-half attempt by Valencia to bounce back, including a disallowed goal for Umar Sadiq due to offside (47th minute), the hosts couldn’t contain Barcelona. In the 59th minute, Lamine Yamal added a fifth goal after a mistake from the goalkeeper (0-5). Barcelona continued to press, and though Yamal came close to scoring again, the scoreline remained unchanged.

This resounding win sees Barcelona advance to the semifinals, where they will face one of the following teams: Real Madrid, Atlético Madrid, or Real Sociedad. The draw for the semifinals will take place next Wednesday.
