In response to the persistence of cybercrime activities in Burkina Faso, which undermine the country’s economy and security, strategies are being developed to better secure the nation. The development of a digital solution for reporting such cases, for the benefit of the Central Brigade for the Fight Against Cybercrime (BCLCC), is a clear demonstration of the authorities’ commitment to defending the country’s interests by all means necessary.
The new platform for combating cybercrime, called “alerte-BCLCC”, was officially launched by the Minister in charge of Security, Commissioner of Police Mahamadou SANA. According to the head of the Brigade for the Fight Against Cybercrime, this platform is a way to bring citizens closer to the services of the Brigade. This reporting system for cybercrime incidents will thus strengthen the Brigade’s capabilities in its mission to protect Burkina Faso’s virtual world.
It is therefore up to the Burkinabe people to engage in this initiative by using this modern means of reporting cybercrime efficiently. According to available information, this digital platform allows individuals to securely and confidentially report any cybercrime activities, such as spreading false information, promoting terrorism, online scams, and more.
