The evaluation of the 2024 performance contracts for the members of the Burkinabe government, conducted recently by Prime Minister Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo, holds significant importance for the country’s governance. This exercise aims to assess the performance of each minister based on the objectives assigned to them, in line with the directives of the President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traoré. The main objective is to ensure the effective implementation of government reforms and projects, aligned with national priorities.

The results of this evaluation show an average performance of 88.33% across all ministries, reflecting notable progress in various sectors. For example, the Ministry of Humanitarian Action and National Solidarity achieved an execution rate of 91.23%, while the Ministry of National Defense reached 89% of its goals. These figures demonstrate a significant commitment from the ministers to achieve the set objectives.

However, the Prime Minister emphasized that despite these encouraging results, it is essential not to fall into complacency. The legitimate aspirations of the Burkinabe people are high, and expectations regarding development and well-being are substantial. It is therefore imperative that government actions have a concrete and positive impact on the daily lives of citizens. In this regard, directives have been issued to intensify efforts in 2025, with a particular focus on speed and efficiency in the implementation of projects.

This evaluation of performance contracts is part of an effort to strengthen transparency and accountability within the Burkinabe executive. It serves as an essential mechanism to ensure that government actions effectively address the needs and expectations of the population, thereby contributing to more effective governance focused on results.
