Sport: Morocco prepares for AFCON 2025 with new initiatives

Morocco will host the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2025 from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026. To welcome supporters under the best conditions, the country has launched several initiatives. A special electronic visa will be available to facilitate visitors’ entry. Additionally, a mobile app called “Yalla” will help fans organize their stay: purchasing tickets, finding accommodation, and following matches in real time.
The “Yalla” app will not only assist in organizing the trip but will also provide information on safety and local regulations. To prevent incidents, the authorities will use this app to control access to stadiums and deny entry to individuals with a history of violence. Security will be heightened with more police officers and surveillance cameras around stadiums and tourist sites.
This competition presents a significant opportunity for Morocco. In addition to showcasing its passion for football, the country also aims to attract more tourists and prepare for the 2030 World Cup, which it will co-host with Spain and Portugal. With beautiful cities like Casablanca, Marrakech, and Tangier, Morocco hopes to offer a unique experience to visitors and strengthen its image on the international stage.
