Barcelona and Atlético share the spoils of a dramatic draw (4-4)

The clash between FC Barcelona and Atlético Madrid in the Copa del Rey semi-final first leg delivered an exciting and thrilling match, ending in a 4-4 draw. From the start, Atlético, led by the formidable duo Griezmann-Alvarez, took the lead with an early goal in the first minute.

Their dominance seemed clear when Griezmann doubled the score in the 6th minute, with Alvarez providing the assist. However, Barcelona quickly responded, with Pedri and Cubarsi scoring two goals within a minute to equalize at 2-2.

From that point, Barcelona took control of the game, despite some missed chances by Ferran Torres. Just before halftime, a brilliant header from Íñigo Martínez gave the Catalans a 3-2 lead. In the second half, although Atlético tried to fight back, especially with Lamine Yamal, Barcelona continued to dominate.

After a decisive pass from Yamal, Lewandowski scored the 4-2 in the 74th minute. But Atlético proved their aresilience, pulling one back with Llorente’s goal (4-3, 84th minute) and equalizing in the dying moments with Sorloth (4-4, 90+4).

This thrilling match leaves everything to play for in the return leg in Madrid, promising even more drama in this high-stakes rivalry.
