As part of supporting the government’s efforts and aligning with the social policy of the President of the Republic of Togo, Head of State Faure Essozimna GNASSINGBE, the national army is joining forces with the vulnerable populations in the Savanes region, in the far north of Togo. Indeed, a free medical care campaign initiated by the Togolese Armed Forces began on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, in the region, running for two (02) weeks of operations.

This initiative aims to bring healthcare closer to the population by enabling easier access to essential and quality health services. To ensure the success of this operation, a significant contingent of medical personnel from the Togolese Armed Forces has been deployed across the prefectures of the Savanes region. They are tasked with providing free medical services to individuals suffering from conditions requiring appropriate care.

For two (02) weeks, doctors, nurses, and medical support staff will offer free consultations, in-depth health check-ups, distribute medication, and conduct awareness sessions on disease prevention. The populations in the Savanes region often face major challenges in accessing healthcare services.

This humanitarian initiative helps alleviate the suffering of vulnerable populations who often lack the financial means to seek medical care or must travel long distances to receive treatment. It also allows the army to get closer to the civilian population and build a cooperative relationship for the security of the country.
