The President of Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, has consistently shown his dedication to the well-being and work of Burkina Faso’s Defense and Security Forces (FDS), as well as their auxiliaries, the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP). Several initiatives have already been implemented to improve their living and working conditions, ensuring their welfare and motivating them in the execution of their mission.

These actions are also a way for the Burkinabe Head of State and his collaborators to express their gratitude to these brave sons and soldiers who sacrifice day and night to defend the nation’s interests, protect their fellow citizens, and reclaim territory from the enemy. These initiatives range from protecting combatants in the field to enhancing their socio-economic well-being and that of their families.

The adoption on Wednesday, March 12, of a decree by the Council of Ministers, approving the special status of the Logistics of the Defense and Security Forces, is in line with this strategy. This decision reflects the commitment of the authorities, led by President Ibrahim Traoré, to improve the living conditions of the national armed forces in order to strengthen the fight against terrorism.

According to the Minister of Defense and Veterans, Brigadier General Célestin Simporé, “The adoption of this decree contributes to boosting the morale of the troops by improving their purchasing power and, consequently, their living conditions”. It is clear that the authorities, with the support of the people, will continue to make efforts to provide a better life for Burkina Faso’s brave soldiers while tackling security threats.
