0

Under the leadership of President Faure Gnassingbé, the Togolese government has reached a decisive milestone in its agricultural development with the adoption of the Agricultural Modernization Program (ProMAT). Planned for the period 2025-2034, this ambitious program aims to increase productivity and competitiveness in the agricultural sector, with a focus on innovation and sustainability.

One of ProMAT’s main objectives is to enhance agricultural yields while promoting local products to reduce food dependency and stimulate the national economy. In response to growing climate challenges, the program also includes measures to strengthen the sector’s resilience and ensure sustainable production.

Beyond agricultural performance, ProMAT places a strong emphasis on human development. Job creation, particularly for young people and women, and the improvement of farmers’ living conditions are key priorities for the government. This agricultural modernization will be supported by investments in rural infrastructure, modern equipment, and market access.

With this initiative, President Faure Gnassingbé once again demonstrates his commitment to building a strong, modern, and self-sufficient agriculture. ProMAT is part of a broader effort to structurally transform the agricultural sector, ensuring better food security and sustainable economic development.
