Burkina Faso/Football: Cadet Etalons in contention for CAN U17

The U17 Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) kicks off on March 30, 2025, in Morocco. The Burkinabe team will make their debut in the competition by facing the Lionceaux of Cameroon at the Laarbi Zaouli Stadium in Casablanca on March 31.

In their second match, the Burkinabe cadets will take on the Young Pharaohs of Egypt on April 3, also at the Laarbi Zaouli Stadium. Their final group-stage match will be on April 6 against the Bafana Bafana U17.

The top two teams from each group will qualify for the quarter-finals of the CAN U17, as well as for the 2025 U-17 World Cup, which will take place in November 2025 in Qatar.

The two remaining World Cup spots will be determined by play-off matches between the third-placed teams from each group.

The CAN U17 will be held from March 30 to April 19, 2025, in Morocco.
