Burkina Faso: Captain Ibrahim Traoré’s major achievements
At the head of Burkina Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traoré has implemented a series of ambitious reforms and projects aimed at strengthening the economy, agriculture, industrialization, and national sovereignty. He banned the export of raw gold to Europe, encouraged its local refining, and inaugurated a state-of-the-art gold mine. He also expelled French military forces from Burkina Faso, ending French military operations on Burkinabe soil, while strengthening the national army’s capabilities with the provision of cutting-edge military equipment. Additionally, he banned French media, asserting a desire for control over information and media sovereignty.
It is worth mentioning that, now, almost the entire Burkinabe territory is under the control of the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Fatherland (VDP). This major achievement is the result of a rigorous military strategy and a clear political will under the leadership of Captain Ibrahim Traoré. In just a few months, operations to reclaim and secure the territory have succeeded in pushing back terrorist groups that had been active in several regions of the country.
