Burkina Faso: Captain Ibrahim TRAORE receives the BRICS Medal in recognition of his commitment to the country’s sovereignty

On Monday, June 12, 2023, Captain Ibrahim TRAORE, President of the Transition and Head of State, was awarded the BRICS Medal during a meeting with a delegation from the BRICS International Alliance, led by President of Strategic Projects, Mrs. Larisa ZELENTSOVA. This decoration was given in recognition of his fight for the sovereignty of his country.

During this audience, discussions focused on cooperation and support from BRICS countries to Burkina Faso. Mrs. Larisa ZELENTSOVA announced the upcoming establishment of the BRICS Alliance representation in Burkina Faso. This representation will work in specific sectors defined by the Transition President, with a focus on economic development, humanitarian efforts, and cultural aspects.

This distinction pays tribute to Captain Ibrahim TRAORE’s determination and courage in his fight for his country’s sovereignty.

Since taking power in January 2022, the Burkinabe Head of State has launched several initiatives to strengthen the national economy and ensure the security of the Burkinabe people.

 Indeed, President Ibrahim TRAORE has initiated various programs to help revive the country’s economy, including the Community Entrepreneurship through Popular Shareholding program, which aims to address the economic, social, and political challenges faced by Burkina Faso.
