Burkina Faso: About fifteen jihadists neutralized in the East region, according to the army

Thanks to the firm commitment of the Transitional President, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, and the fighting forces to curb extremist violence, jihadists, and all forms of insecurity, Burkinabe people can hope for the imminent end of terrorism.

Across the entire national territory, the Patriot Coalition composed of the National Armed Forces (FDS) and Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) vigorously combats jihadist groups that refuse to seize the outstretched hand of the authorities, who are asking them to lay down their arms.

Equipped with modern warfare equipment acquired by the Transitional leaders, the armed troops have gained the upper hand over the enemies. With this increase in strength, fear, as well as the loss of human lives, has shifted to the other side.

The report compiled by the security authorities on offensive and defensive operations against enemy forces establishes the number of jihadists killed in the hundreds every week.

On Tuesday, June 14, 2023, Burkinabe armed troops routed a group of terrorists who attacked a military unit near Kompienga in the East region.

The counterattack was “swift” and led to the neutralization of about fifteen criminals, as well as the recovery of abandoned vehicles and weaponry left behind by the enemy during their retreat, as stated in the press release from the General Staff of the Armed Forces.
