BURKINA-FASO: SECURITY SITUATION UNDER CONTROL. PRESIDENT TRAORÉ ACHIEVES IN ONE YEAR WHAT THE FRENCH FORCES COULD NOT DO IN 10 YEARS

Reconquering the entire national territory and restoring peace and security was the main motto of the Head of State, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, when he took power following the events of 30 September 2022. Almost a year after that fateful date, which has left its mark on the history of Burkina Faso, the highly visible and undeniable results of President Traoré’s patriotic commitment have given the people of Burkina Faso and Africa renewed hope for a new day.

The lack of security in Burkina Faso, caused by the spread of terrorism and organised crime, are the main reasons why the MPSR seized power almost a year ago, in order to define a real war strategy and save people and property from the fury of attacking groups.

Without wasting any time, the young officer took the bulls by the horns, reorganising the army and launching an appeal for Burkinabe citizens wishing to defend their homeland against enemy forces.

With his irreproachable foresight, he decided to break certain partnerships, such as the military agreements signed with the former colonial power, which authorised the presence of French forces in Ouagadougou.

The denunciation of these agreements and the expulsion of French soldiers and certain rogue diplomats enabled a truly endogenous struggle to take root.

Equipped with modern equipment and logistics, the balance of power shifted in favour of the patriotic fighters made up of the national armed forces and the Volunteers for the Homeland. Since then, the patriotic coalition has gone from strength to strength. This rise in strength has inflicted heavy losses on the enemy forces, who have no choice but to withdraw to remote hamlets.

Thanks to a strengthened national intelligence service that maintains impeccable collaboration with the forces engaged on the ground, the attacking groups are located and surprised by precision strikes during their meetings and even at their bases before they even go into action.

Media reports of terrorist attacks and casualties among the population or against a military detachment are now a thing of the past, replaced by good news from the front. Burkina Faso’s fighters have moved from a wait-and-see position to an offensive one.

Thanks to the unshakeable determination of Captain Traoré and his men, despite plots and attempts to destabilise the country, Burkina Faso has gradually recovered and brought the security situation under control.

The sacred union around Captain Ibrahim Traoré and his government must be maintained, for a total victory over the forces of evil and the effective return of the longed-for peace.
