Burkina-Faso/ FIFA Ranking: The stallions come back for a better jump

In a publication on Thursday 21 September 2023, the International Football Association (FIFA) released its September ranking. Burkina Faso wins in exploit and performance through the last day of the CAN 2023 playoffs and recent friendly matches and ranks 10th in the ranking in Africa.

According to the FIFA ranking, the stallions are still slightly down by 3 places and occupy the 58th place in the world.

55th place in the world in the previous weeks, the men of Hubert VELLUD made a draw (0-0) against Eswatini and lost to Morocco (1-0) which will have been worth the decline of the stallions on the world level.

Two months after the previous edition, from a general point of view, the African selections like Morocco, which ranks 13th in the world, have made a slight increase.

On the African continent, Morocco therefore remains at the top of the African countries in the FIFA world ranking ranked in 13th place, followed respectively by Senegal (20th), Tunisia (29th), Algeria (34th), Egypt (35th), Nigeria (40th), Cameroon (41st), Mali (49th), Côte d’Ivoire (50′), Burkina Faso (58′) and Ghana (60′).

In terms of international performance, Argentina (1st) consolidated its first place in the FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking with victories over Ecuador (1-0) and Bolivia (0-3) in the FIFA 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

A total of 159 international matches were played in September according to FIFA. The next FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking will be published on 26 October.
