Burkina Faso/ Côte d’Ivoire: The former DGA of the ANR, Mr Ouedraogo Sekou was assassinated in Korhogo

The information reports that the former deputy director general of the Burkinabe intelligence services, Mr Ouedraogo Sekou, involved in a coup plot and on the run to Côte d’Ivoire, was assassinated in the city of Korhogo, Côte d’Ivoire.

Other information from Ivorian intelligence circles confirms this assassination, while presenting it as the result of a robbery that went wrong. It is also mentioned that Ouedraogo Sekou had been collaborating for some time with an individual named Va-Sidiki, who would be one of the senior officials of the Ivorian intelligence services, in order to destabilize Burkina Faso. However, this information is still being verified.

According to the same sources, devices and documents belonging to the former deputy director general of the National Intelligence Agency mysteriously disappeared. For the moment, there has been no official communication from the Ivorian authorities or Burkinabe regarding this case. Our correspondents are collecting as much information as possible on this subject.

As for the former DAF, who was on the run with the former deputy director general, it was apparently unknown to the Ivorian authorities and seems to have escaped the incident. If the murder is confirmed, it could potentially worsen tensions in relations between the two countries.

This situation requires further investigation to determine the exact circumstances of the incident.

We will continue to monitor this matter closely for further updates.
